About Endeavor:
Endeavor (www.endeavor.org & www.endeavoreg.org) is a global non-profit organization pioneering a new approach to global development by stimulating and supporting entrepreneurship in emerging markets. We aim to become the leading supporter of high-impact entrepreneurship in Egypt. Working through an extensive network of local contacts, Endeavor screens hundreds of next-generation entrepreneurs, ultimately selecting those who demonstrate the leadership, creativity, ethical grounding and entrepreneurial qualities to build high-growth, successful companies. Once selected, Endeavor Entrepreneurs benefit from custom support services to help them develop their businesses, plan for growth, and attract financing. Endeavor’s key strength is its network of VentureCorps Mentors: local and global business-leaders that provide pro-bono advice to the entrepreneurs in Endeavor’s network. Endeavor also stimulates a local entrepreneurial infrastructure by promoting entrepreneurial role models and seeking out partnerships. Headquartered in New York City, Endeavor currently has offices in most Latin American countries as well as South Africa, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey. Endeavor aims to be in 20 emerging countries by 2020.
Communication & Outreach Officer’s Purpose:
Endeavor Egypt country office is seeking to hire a "Communication & Outreach Officer" to help promote entrepreneurship and establish Endeavor as a national focal point for High-Impact entrepreneurship. Primary ways to do this will be to generate more media coverage of entrepreneurship, organize Endeavor events, and seek out partnerships with relevant organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Create high visibility of high-impact entrepreneur role-models through print and broadcast media.
Engage Endeavor entrepreneurs, staff and mentors as speakers at universities, outreach events, conferences, networking events, etc.
Seek out partnerships with business sector organizations that support our values, can nominate candidates, provide mentors and widen our network.
Moderate and update Endeavor Egypt’s website (English & Arabic).
Actively moderate Endeavor’s social media presence (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Wordpress) and create meaningful content.
Create a long-term strategy for Endeavor Egypt’s blog (http://endeavoreg.wordpress.com/).
Develop a strategy to engage Arabic-language media to write about entrepreneurship.
Create inspiring media content and marketing materials to promote entrepreneurship.
Develop a communications strategy to more effectively target potential entrepreneurs.
Organize events for Endeavor’s network of mentors, entrepreneurs, and friends.
Seek out relevant organizational partnerships that can offer relevant services to Endeavor or its Entrepreneurs.
Coordinate the production of “E-moments” (short documentaries on young entrepreneurs).
Coordinate the design & development of “Idea-lab”: an online portal for peer-review of potential entrepreneurial ideas.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, 2-4 years of relevant work experience (PR, media, communications, marketing, journalism), Master’s Degree a plus
Experience working in an international capacity
Independent worker
Ability to travel internationally on occasion
Excellent English and Arabic written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of Egypt's economic and business climate
Good relations with the press (preferred)
Basic HTML skills, familiarity with Joomla or other CMS’s (preferred)
Highly motivated, focused, creative, flexible, organized, able to balance multiple priorities
Strong computer software proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
